In response to an overwhelming number of requests, Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture announced that it is extending its Jingle Video Contest through the fall, with the Grand Prize winner driving away in a brand-new 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid on Thanksgiving weekend. Individuals now have extra time to create and submit an original 30-second video of themselves singing the retailer’s trademark jingle: “Bernie and Phyl’s, quality, comfort and price, that’s nice!” Creativity is encouraged and participants have until November 3, 2008 to submit their video on the Bernie & Phyl’s website www.bernieandphyls.com. A panel of judges will select 10 finalists from all the submissions. The public will then have the opportunity to vote online – from November 10, 2008 to November 23, 2008 – for their favorite video. The Grand Prize winner, based on the video that receives the most votes, will be announced on November 24, 2008. “We’ve already received a lot of great videos, but an overwhelming number of people were requesting more time because their summer vacation schedules didn’t allow them to participate,” said Larry Rubin, CEO of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. “We extended the deadline to give everyone a chance to be part of this fun contest.” The contest is open to U.S. residents who are age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license and e-mail address. The individual submitting the video must be the lead performer singing the entire jingle. Videos must be original, unpublished, in English, and the sole property of the submitter.
