Broyhill Sponsors 3k Walk In Support Of Passionately Pink for the Cure

Broyhill Home Furnishings announced that it sponsored a 3K walk at their main office on Friday, October 31, 2008 for Passionately Pink for the Cure™ and the Wig Bank of Caldwell County. The front entrance of the building marked the starting line for the walk, which was adorned with a seven-foot tall pink banner which read ‘Broyhill Home Furnishings, We are Passionately Pink for the Cure.’ The walk consisted of 4 laps around the parking lot. A total of 112 Broyhill employees from all company locations donated money towards the fundraiser, and 40 of those employees participated in the walk, lead by four Broyhill employees who are cancer survivors. Broyhill provided custom pink T-shirts for all participants who donated $10.00 or more in support of the fundraiser. “Our first annual walk, held in the fall of 2007, was a tremendous success,” stated Marc Carpenter, vice president of human resources with Broyhill. “This year, we are proud to sponsor the second edition of our company’s 3K walk, and look forward to keeping this tradition in the future. I am so proud of our team for participating and supporting this very worthy cause.” The event raised $1,971.00 for both causes. 100% of the monies donated will go to Passionately Pink for the Cure ™ and The Wig Bank of Caldwell County. Passionately Pink for the Cure™ is a fundraising and educational program through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Wig Bank of Caldwell County is a local agency dedicated to providing support and education for local cancer patients.
