Loren Roth, formerly international sales manager for Sauder, has been named director of international sales. Reporting directly to John Yoder, vice president of sales and marketing, and former director of international sales, Roth will be responsible for overseeing all international sales activities and the direction of the international sales department. "Loren has demonstrated a strong capability to not only develop, but also to successfully implement, sales strategies for key international markets," says Yoder. "Having lived among diverse cultures and customs on several different continents, Loren offers firsthand knowledge and experience of the international marketplace that will help us maintain and build upon our overseas relationships." Having served for more than five years as international sales manager in areas of the Middle East, Africa and Asia/Pacific, Roth was instrumental in the successful restructuring of sales channels that resulted in strong sales growth and market penetration. He has held various positions including production, customer service and international sales, since he joined Sauder in 1989. Roth holds a bachelor's degree from Grace College of the Bible, Omaha, Nebraska, in addition to a master's degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Sauder is the nation's largest manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture and the eighth largest furniture manufacturer in the nation, with 1998 RTA sales of more than $500 million. Sauder includes two subsidiaries - Sauder Manufacturing Company, a leader in church and institutional seating, and Archbold Container Corporation - that brought total 1998 corporate revenues to $550 million.
