The owners of Resort Interiors, a division of Resort Investments, Inc., announced that they are closing the store and having a store closing and liquidation sale. “Resort Interiors saw dramatic growth for the first 13 years; but this past year, we have seen a drastic decline in demand for furniture following the decline in real-estate sales and home building,” owner, Frank Kovach said. He continued, “Closing Resort Interiors and liquidating over $7,000,000 worth of inventory is a colossal task. Resort Interiors has engaged Lynch Sales Company, top consultants in marketing and merchandising, to manage this event which begins on February 13, 2009.” Julie Kovach said, “We are thankful for the thousands of customers and our loyal staff who have supported this business. We hope that we can continue to be actively involved in supporting this wonderful community.” Resort Interiors has been a major benefactor for many of the area’s charities including Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast, Destin Charity Wine Auction, Haven House and many other worthy causes within the community. Resort Interiors opened their doors in 1995, just weeks after Hurricane Opal, in a small 4,000 SF location on Melvin Street. Over the past 14 years, they have won numerous design awards and have since grown to their current 60,000 SF facility, one mile west of Sandestin. The company has been voted the “Best Place to Shop for Furniture” for the past 8 years in a row and “Best Interior Design Firm” for 2005 by Emerald Coast Magazine. Resort Investments, Inc., owner of Resort Interiors, has been involved in retail furniture, motels, office buildings, residential real-estate and investments along the Emerald Coast. Resort Investments, Inc. will continue in business after the sale and liquidation of Resort Interiors.
