In a move to maintain its leading edge in furniture design, production and customer sales satisfaction, Hitchcock Fine Home Furnishings today announced the appointment of Richard P. Ferraguto as Retail Vice President/General Manager. Supported by classic Hitchcock offerings and several soon-to-be-announced plans and new furniture lines, the management appointment will position the company for continued growth and profitability while ensuring that consumers have access to Hitchcock quality well into the Millennium. "We took a look at what our company needed to stay distinctly Hitchcock," said Ron Coleman, president. "Then we studied market trends and customer needs, assisted by Britt Beamer of America's Research Group, and carefully began the process of assembling a team of industry leaders to help us balance tradition and trends. Our goal at Hitchcock is to create lasting designs for our customers' lifestyles," Coleman said. Dick Ferraguto will head the retail division and oversee the five stores in Connecticut. Prior to joining Hitchcock, Ferraguto was the General Manager of Milford, Conn. based Wayside of Milford where he was involved with the setup of three new Thomasville stores and Thomasville Gallery. Ferraguto has extensive experience in the furniture industry with accomplishments in marketing, business operations, management, sales, merchandising and design. He has an in-depth knowledge of woods, finishes, fabrics, style, and interior design. Ferraguto's experience also includes team building, training and leadership. Named as one of the "Who's Who in Connecticut Business" in 1990, 1991, 1992, Ferraguto has earned a statewide reputation for excellence in customer relations. Originally established in 1824 in Hithcocksville (now Riverton), Conn., Hitchcock's name is synonymous with quality in the furniture industry. Famously known for its stenciled chairs and cabinets, Hitchcock now also produces 18"' Century and Shaker style designs in solid cherry.
