Metropolitan Furnishings Association recently sent out a news announcement in support of the Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation Dinner to be held at The Richfield Regency
420 Bloomfield Avenue Verona, NJ, Friday March 6, 2009. 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

Proceeds from this and all Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation (DMCCF) events go directly to families who have been affected by cancer.

The event is organized by Chris Clarizio, a long time furniture sales representative in the  NY/NJ/CT territory for Klaussner Home Furnishings and a member of the board for the Metropolitan Furnishings Association.

Mr. ClarizoI lost his brother Dean 3 1/2 years ago to cancer and along with hisfamily and friends began the Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation in his honor.

"Actually," Chris Clarizo said, "it was a promise I made to Dean a few weeks before he passed because the DMCCF was his idea and dream.  With the help of volunteers, we raise money to donate to families and children fighting this terrible disease. The response has been tremendous, and every year we continue to grow.  Last June the DMCCF partnered up with the highly successful Metropolitan Furnishings Association's Annual Golf Outing that resulted in a donation of  $5,000. March 6th, marks the date for our 4th annual dinner, we have averaged over 230 the last two years and would be happy to hit that number again. Of course we would love the grow, but in this economy today, I think hitting the same amount would be a success. The DMCCF plans to donate at least $10,000 to 2 families that evening."
